A united voice for all of North West Queensland
The North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils Inc. (NWQROC) was established in 2013 as the representative organisation for the councils of the North West Queensland region.
Our vision
is to achieve regional prosperity through interactive and collaborative planning and advocacy.
Our mission
is to foster cooperation and promote resource sharing among member councils to effectively develop and promote regional priorities, including through developing future visions and strategies to advocate to other levels of government.
This includes:
Being a forum to discuss and agree responses on regionally significant issues and opportunities
Providing collective and united leadership on behalf of the North West, advocating to the Queensland and Australian Governments (and associated agencies)
Enabling active technical collaboration and planning between members on key council service areas (roads, waste, disaster preparedness and response)
Our Strategic Plan
NWQROC is focussed on leading regional advocacy efforts for the North West.
Realising our opportunities and overcoming our challenges requires a high degree of collaboration – both together within the region and collectively to our key stakeholders beyond.
