Disaster Preparedness

The councils of North West Queensland are at the frontline of preparing for and responding to natural disasters in their communities.

Our councils are prepared to be the first point of contact for our communities and visitors to provide information and direction in the event of a natural disaster. Combining their experience and local know-how, the councils of Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Croydon, Doomadgee, Etheridge, Flinders, Kowanyama, McKinlay, Mornington and Richmond have online resources to ensure locally relevant information is easily accessible for locals and visitors in the lead up to and during a disaster.

Find out more at the council links below, or check out Get Ready Queensland for more on how you, your community or your business can get prepared.
