Kennedy candidates have their say at NWQROC event

Three candidates contesting the seat of Kennedy at the upcoming federal election participated in a Q&A session hosted by North West Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (NWQROC) in Mount Surprise yesterday.

NWQROC Chair, Mayor Jack Bawden, welcomes attendees to the candidate event

The session was hosted as part of the NWQROC board meeting dinner and was an opportunity to break through campaign noise and enable candidates to directly meet with the local leaders of the North West.

Bryce Macdonald (LNP), Peter Campion (UAP) and incumbent the Hon Bob Katter MP (KAP) stepped up to the opportunity to addresses the NWQROC board and council representatives followed by an open question and answer session.

The event was also an opportunity for candidates to address their response to the Western Queensland Alliance of Councils Election Platform which has been provided to candidates last month for formal responses.

We thank the candidates for taking the time to prepare and present to our board while on the campaign trail across one of Australia’s largest electorates.

Jason Brandon (ALP) was unable to attend the event due to commitments in Mornington Island.

We look forward to working with the elected representative to deliver on our commitments to the benefit of our region.
