Mayor, Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council

Mayor Territa Dick is the Mayor of Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, Chair of TCICA (Torres Cape Indigenous Council Alliance) which make up 15 of the 17 discrete Indigenous Councils in Queensland.

Mayor Territa Dick is a proud Traditional owner from the Kunjen tribe in Kowanyama.

Territa is in her third term as elected member having served previously as a Deputy Mayor and councillor and this is her first stint as Mayor.

Through her leadership, Mayor Dick continues to steer Kowanyama towards a future where self-determination, community unity, and local economic development are at the forefront, ensuring a prosperous and resilient community for generations to come.
