North West Queensland Enabling Infrastructure Masterplan

The Australian Government is currently undertaking a review of its Developing Northern Australia agenda and the Queensland Government is looking to accelerate the implementation of both its Energy and Jobs Plan and North West Economic Diversity Strategy.

However, based on research and experience, NWQROC recognises, efforts to develop the region will fail if the focus is not placed firmly on “going back to the basics” through government delivering enabling infrastructure that can drive private sector investment.

In collaboration with RDA – Townsville & NWQ, NWQROC has commissioned AEC to develop a NWQ Enabling Infrastructure Masterplan with a focus on the fundamental infrastructure that needs investment if we’re to truly realise the potential of our region and proposed transformational projects. The plan will be foundational to our future advocacy to state and federal government and our 2024 State Election Campaign.

We are encouraged by what is being considered by the Office of Northern Australia in its Developing Northern Australia White Paper. The NWQ Masterplan is being developed with consideration for the White Paper.
